I was topping up the pressure on my unvented central heating/hot water system. I opened the flexible filling loop to top it up, it was taking AGES and I forgot to close it until the next day.
Now my boiler is at pressure level 3, the red mark.
is this dangerous and is there a way to reduce it?
Sorry for the delay in replying and thanks so much for your help. Been busy moving into new house.
I have since found that the dishwasher we intend on buying can be hot filled (up to 60degrees).
Would it be easier to connect it someway to the pipe shown below?
This is the hot water pipe from...
Yeah the stop tap is in this cupboard.
So I obviously turn off the mains. But then what? Can’t I just loosen that bronze connector and swap it for a tee?
sorry, I’ve never done anything like this before
I am going to attempt to install an integrated dishwasher.
Can anyone tell me what I’ll need to buy to connect it to the water inlet? This is a photo of under my sink. The pipe that goes into the wall goes to the outdoor tap.

We live in a flat and don't have central heating. For the last few days, our hot water switch has been getting REALLY hot to touch. It was also going like this last month but then seemed to go okay. We usually turn the boost switch on (see picture below), and leave it on for about half an hour...
Thanks so much for getting back to me.
Would you have any idea as to why those bulbs would have gone so quickly? They were installed for just over a year and apparently are supposed to last 10,000 hours - they've been in the bathroom and there's only two of us and it's not like we have the...
Can you tell me why I can't replace a SGU10 bulb with a GU10 bulb?
They look exactly the same. The Aurora catalogue number printed on both bulbs is exactly the same.
The light fitting in the ceiling states "GU10", but a SGU10 bulb was fitted into it.
Three of the bulbs in bathroom have decided to go more or less all around the same time. Been in touch with the landlord, he told me to try B&Q but I've looked on their website and can't find the exact ones.
Can I use any alternatives? The bulbs are exactly the same as the ones in the...
One of the switches goes to the top of the cylinder and one of them goes to the bottom of the cylinder.
And I have screwed the pipe back onto the tundish and ensured the red tap is fully open.
I won't be using the nightstore heaters so I'm not really bothered about it not being a two-rate electric meter. I just don't want to waste more electric than I need to, so that's why I'm paranoid about the two switches on the wall for the hot water cylinder.
I just want the cylinder to come...
Thanks for your replies.
Why is there two switches on the cylinder? I gather one is for the storage heater, but I've been in touch with the electricity supplier and they have told me that it's not a two-rate meter/reduced rate, it's just a normal single rate electric meter - would I need to...
