    Which fitting please?

Thanks. I still don't understand. When I've fitted kitchen taps the male Flexi has to fit in the tap first as you have to spin the hose. In this instance I am fitting the flexihose male into the female flexihose that's manufactured into the stem of the tap, this has a running nut. So to fit I...

    Which fitting please?

Hi Dan, The female tap base 'nut' is free spinning - does that make sense? Cheers

    Which fitting please?

Thanks for your replies. I imagined that once this tap is installed the pipe work becomes inaccessible. I planned on installing flexihose to the underfloor pipe work, with the flexihose capped so I can turn the water back on to the house. (A service valve will be inaccessible so creates a...

    Which fitting please?

Good afternoon, After several failed trips to the shed, I'm at a little loss to what I need. I am trying to first fix a new bathroom and it involves a floor mounted tap for a freestanding bath. I would like to use push fit under the floor (my apprenticeship was in electrics) and trust push...

    Damaged street lighting cable.

DNO's used 4mm all the time for streetlighting. Most are moving onto 25mm concentric however at least 1 IDNO I know of still allows 4mm streetlight connections. Still with 400A fuses a 25mm concentric will still blow clear (I've seen it) and may even blow a main clear.

    4 pole contactor for oven.

Yes I hadn't thought about the amount of time the contractor is going to be operational. It's a shame so little literature is available from manufacturer. I have fired an email off to electrum and will update when it arrives. Thanks all.

    4 pole contactor for oven.

Yes, the reason for the contactor was because like John it felt wrong to switch the oven in the grid, and I wanted it switched from the grid. That would have also meant running 6mm to the grid as I run a 6mm supply to future proof any oven change. I shall double up in the contactor, if as was...

    4 pole contactor for oven.

Hello all, I have installed an oven 3.5kW via a contactor, so as I can run 6mm supply in (futureproofing although by then the EU will have banned anything that doesnt't have a wind-up handle), that allows me to comfortably switch via an MK grid . To the point, the contactor runs pretty...

    Emmeti underfloor heating manifold?

Hi all, I am seeking a 6 port underfloor heating system. I am curious to whether anyone has any experience of brands; I am currently looking at an Emmeti manifold with the Wilo Yonos Para pump. I come from an electrical background so don't have experience with brands in this industry. Can...

    Replacing radiators for underfloor heating.

Hi all and thanks for your replies. So I will go down the route of installing an extra Flow, having all the radiators on a different zone than the underfloor heating. Both will have a motorised zone valve on their flow and a pump each (will the manifold pump alone be suitable for the UFH or...

    Replacing radiators for underfloor heating.

Thanks all for your advice. I'm an electrician so it's just understanding the water element. I can now see that the UFH needs to be treated differently to a radiator. I will look into this further, which another zone valve etc. Thanks.
