    Vaillant Boiler temperature

Yes I think my system doesn't use an ebus. Room thermostat will adjust the room temp', while the HW Tank thermo' regulates that temp'. Excuse my basic knowledge. So it is recommended the boiler control should be 65C while the HW tank should be set at 60C. Photo of my controls. Advice?

Q, re Boiler and CH settings.

I have a Vaillant ECOTEC Plus 418 bolier that operates both my CH and HW in an open vent system. There are two dials on the boiler: one for HW (with a HW tank) and one for CH. Only the CH dial runs and operates BOTH, whilst the HW dial is switched off for reasons of something else not fitted or...

    Boiler problem

Yes thanks for that, but so far the Magnaclean combined with Sentinel x400 is doing a great job. I shall leave the latter in the system for about 2 weeks (4 weeks is the max') and clean the filter till its permanently clean and save the expense. At least my Vaillant bolier ecotec 418 plus is...

    Boiler problem

The only problem with a powerflush is the chemicals will find any weak spot in your rads and they could start to leak especially if they are old, as mine are.

    Boiler problem

The Magnaclean is now a permanent solution over time. Don't agree with powerflushes on an old system like mine and way too expensive anyway. Thanks for your reply.

    Boiler problem

Have had a "magnaclean filter/cleaner fitted and wow the difference. The gunk that was and still is in my system is amazing. Ongoing solution with an open vent system is most definitely the magnaclean cleaner.

    Boiler problem

Thank you for your replies. The boiler does fire up but then it bangs (loud banging) as if something is loose inside, a bit like a washing machine that is overloaded and tries to spin but cant very well. No "CODE" is displayed either. Have called the engineer and I meant he is gas-safe not...

    Boiler problem

I have a Vaillant ecoTEC Plus 418 wall mounted boiler that is 4 years old on an open vent system with hot water tank and CH. This replaced an old Potterton Netaheat Boiler. A cleaning filter is not fitted although I understand that they are now compulsory as standard. Had to switch off the...

    Rads not getting hot

I have an open vent CH and hot water system with hot water tank, using a wall mounted Vaillant boiler. My question is: why do two/three of my upstairs bedroom rads only become lukewarm/stay cold when both the heating and water are on, and yet when the hot water is switched to off at the...

    Gas Boiler Question

yes I do have a room thermostat for the CH but the boiler itself has two manual circular controls: one for the heating with a RAD symbol, and the other as a HW symbol control, the latter of which is in the OFF position and has never been switched ON. However, the HW is still heated via the gas...

    Gas Boiler Question

I have a Vaillant ECO Tech Plus 418 for my CH and HW and would like to know if the boiler setting should be set at maximum for CH or not, and if not which setting should I use on the boiler itself? Many thanks.

    Network problem

Download speeds have now reversed almost exactly. Laptop is now 2Mbps where Desktop is 19 to 20 Mbps. Shouldn't they both be the same?
