Problem with glow worm micron 70 ff

Apologies, I wasn't intentionally being economical. The other night I noticed the pump was running when there was no demand. Both zone valves were also closed. Left it a wee while in case it was some kind of antifrost setting or something. Was still running after an hour so I reset the boiler...

Problem with glow worm micron 70 ff

Thanks for the reply, the fan doesn't seem excessively noisy. Also feel the boiler had been playing up over the last few weeks. Pump stuck on when there's no demand etc. Wasn't sure if I'd be forking out for pcb's etc. May just bite the bullet and upgrade given its been in use for 10 years...

Problem with glow worm micron 70 ff

Hi Looking for some advice. Unvented system feeding 18 rads. Glowworm micron 70ff , house is 2007 but boiler could be older. Boiler will run for so long then cuts out. The old power cycle gets it going again. Fault lights imply abs/fan failure. Just though with this type of fault it would only...

    Play Area, Wet Garden

Hi I'm looking for some advice. I've a very poor draining lawn, coupled with an excessively wet year that we've had so far in Scotland. I've decided to build a play area for the kids with the intention of putting in a climbing frame and some playchip. The area is 6m x 5m, towards the end of the...

    Installing Balustrading on Landing area

Hi A letter of comfort is a letter issue by the local authority for work carried out prior to 2005 that didn't have the appropriate building warrants in place. They basically survey and if they're happy they issue the letter to state that they won't take any enforcement action. So i need it...

    Installing Balustrading on Landing area

Hi Firstly thanks for the reply, this is interesting. The conservatory was built in 1994 so I'm not sure if they check the regs that were in play then. However I will contact them and bring this up, in an ideal world they'll accept and issue the letter of comfort. Forgot to mention that i'm...

    Installing Balustrading on Landing area

Hi I'm looking for some advice. I'm selling my house and the previous owner didn't get a building warrant for the conservatory. Long story short, i've to get a letter of comfort. The local authority has picked up that there should be balustrading installed on the landing area. Fair doos, now...

Electric oven spur from ring main

I know i should run a new radial circuit but it's more work. It will cause problems in the future if i decide to change from a gas hob to an electric one. Fortunately Part P doesn't come into effect up here in Scotland so no worries there. Although all work is being carried out by competent...

Electric oven spur from ring main

Hi I'm looking for some advice. I'm installing a new kitchen, i've knocked down a wall and all my sockets were on it. I've moved a few to the desired locations. However i've got concrete floors and it isn't easy for me to run a new 6mm radial circuit for the cooker. I propose to spur from...
