Hi Guys
I thought i'd update this. I've now had the report back and it looks like the worktop wasn't installed correctly. You can see the details below.
Is it worth retrospectively getting the brackets changed so they are the right way round? To the untrained eye it looks like the rest of...
yes the washing machine and dishwasher are underneath the area in question. But there is a smaller split next to the cooker also so that line of evidence doesn't apply I don't think.
Like I said the guy didn't even look underneath the worktop.
cheers.
Thanks guys. The kitchen was fitted by a friend of mine - a carpenter by trade and i trust his work. I've just taken a picture above the washing machine - you can see how the top is fixed to the separator panels (not sure what these are called.) I guess this is normal. Can't see any other...
thanks for your reply - yes I would tend to agree with you unsurprisingly! I've requested a copy of the 3rd party report which can take 5-6 weeks to arrive for some reason.
In the meantime I suppose I get an expert in to take a look. Does anyone know of such a person in south east London...
Hello
We had an Ikea kitchen installed a couple of years ago with solid beech worktops. A split developed a few months after this - only now have I bothered to contact IKEA to see if I can get it sorted on the back of the 25 guarantee they offer.
So we had the 3rd party inspection a week...
I've been doing a bit of research into baths and it would appear that Kaldewei are well known for making decent ones. The bath i'm looking at - 1700mm by 700mm by 410mm (depth) has a stated water capacity of 97 litres. Is this on the light side in terms of water capacity or fairly standard for...
i agree. I bought some Quick Step rustic oak laminate - which is apparently one of the better laminates (£15psm) on a recommendation but when i saw the stuff layed on the floor it just looked plastic to me. So i exchanged it for some engineered oak (about double the price).
i think it has...
pretty sure yes - builder mentioned not being able to put a new bathroom in for us until the house was earthed. I don't know if the house has some earthing missing (if that's possible!).
House was built circa 1960s.
thanks
Dan.
Hi
I've recently had a builder do a bit of work around my house and he commented that i have no earthing system.
Can anyone give me a rough idea how much it costs to have this installed? - (don't really know what it is!)
thanks
Dan.
Hi,
I purchased some Quick Step laminate (harvast oak) from floors-to-go and have had a change of heart now i've seen the stuff laid out on a friends floor. It looks, well, like fake wood.
So im now looking at getting some engineered wood. I don't really want to spend any more than £30psm...
Here is my fireplace:
You can see the problem with the discoloured / damaged areas.
This is the fire:

I am looking for a suitable black paint / spray to cover this up.
Does anyone have...
