    The textured paint does have a gritty finish , but would suggest smooth . covers over wood without any problems with just one coat . If wood is ok and any flaking material removed will last much longer than most shed / fence treatments. I did mind magnolia colour to give beach hut type look...

    depending what colour you want . but i used wickes masonary textured paint (brown colour )on my sheds in garden 2 years ago still looks great . paint filled all the small gaps and sealed great

    thanks for reply , doh! forgot to add pics , the soil pipe was set in concrete to support adjoining drain , it is steel i've scrapped some back , the rest looks ok , i think the concrete may have coroded the pipe , i also checked that the pipe is 22mm . so i can use these...

    i have a leak on main water supply from stop tap into house , i think its 20 mm steel pipe , i have located the break , just under the soil pipe in picture , can i just chop out the section with break and and use compression fitting using plastic pipe , or will the whole pipe need replacing ...

    Should electric sockets be mounted under boilers??

    we have a worcester combi with built in filling loop . loop is filled by using plastic key to operate valve under boiler. every time the loop needs topping up ,water always escapes and squirts out when removing key from valve , now i just leave the key in the valve and turn off once done

    I used 1.5 mm t+e for my speakers and terminated into a speaker connection plate . i know all the hi fi buffs would frown on such a thing , but i think all the oxygen free stuff is just hype . after all copper is copper ?

    just had a boiler installed to replace old one . . gas fitter gas safe registered . he also fitted the new wireless room thermostat, this is connected from exsisting fcu situated above boiler . my only concern is that the wire from fcu to wireless unit is running across the gas pipe ...

    thanks for replys and information . just got in from night shift so will try advice later . bath and sink taps reading 12 v . shower pipework reading 36v. using volt stick would this indicate fault is nearer to shower pipework ? will have look and try later . dave
