    hi - just to verify: 1 cable is no good because its already on a spur. 3 cable is no good because ts already supplying a spur. so 2 cable is what one needs to fit another socket? right?

    Ah, no I didn't think that at all. I know a socket needs these 3 things... live, neutral & earth. Ok if you don't want to help me, fair enough thats you decision... Mostly everytime I come here to seek advice I always get put down... I stated in my first post that I might have a go...

    You are good, I did what you said and put 1 red wire in the 2nd light. Johnny you are good too, cause I put that stray red in the first switch & walla!!! it worked, im so chuffed - thanks guys, really appreciated that you took the time to help me, without you I would not of done it...

    No, the 2 switches control both lights. thanks for that, i will wire the second light like: 2 red to brown 1 black to blue hopefully this will work now, cheers for help crafty, helped me alot :)

    Yes, it was wired like that - all I did was copy the old wire's. left black with red band (white dot) was connected to Live Brown right black was connected to neutral blue the red wires didnt go anywhere. and the stray black in switch 2 also went to nothing, it hasnt been stripped so...
