    pooling is normal , older flat roofs were literally flat , you could put chipping up there to raise the water leve allowing it to move off. just a thought,

    you should be able to using screw n plugs but dont be short on the amount. you could first fix firing strips and create a healthy fall then fix to to strips

    too much mortar sitting in the gap on the felt/ membrane could be a problem i reccommended bridging the gap, bearing in mind you do need a healthy bed of mortar

    build the gap up with rubble i.e broken roof tile , this will bridge the gap between the tiles , allow 2 inches of mortar to rebed your ridge to. squeeze out excess and point, only bed the side to a slate roof as full pointing always falls out
