    Possible Danfoss FP715Si issue

OK that does seem like possiblility as well. It's been absolutely fine the past two days now! Typical. If it does flare up again the most economical option may be to get another Siemen receiver, which are not too expensive and if that is not the cause I'll have to move onto the Danfoss - both...

    Possible Danfoss FP715Si issue

    1. Which model do you have? RDH10RF (basic features with just the dial) 2. How far apart are the controller and receiver? Thermostat is in dining room directly beneath the bedroom which contains the airing cupboard and receiver. 3. How many walls directly between them? Just the...

    Possible Danfoss FP715Si issue

Hello, We have one year old Ideal Logic+ system boiler (not combi) which is controlled by a Danfoss FP715Si in combination with a wireless Siemens room thermostat. The Siemens is just set to 18/19 degrees and the Danfoss should keep the heating on while it is programmed to do so (e.g. 6pm...

    Replastering inside of external wall

Ok sounds like a plan. Should horse hair be used? Also will this give a nice smooth finish? The rest of the wall looks good so could I get away with just replastering the gypsum area (about 2 ft up from skirting)?

    Replastering inside of external wall

I have recently hacked off about half a metre of plaster right back to the brick to try and see what was causing a damp patch which would not go away and all the paint had flaked off repeatedly. I filled in some gaps in the mortar on the outside of the house last year and can't see any...

Slate roof - repair or replace

Thanks for the reply BethesdaSlate I've had that one cracked ridge replaced. The rest look like they could do with refitting and the end ridge now needs replacing. Like I said only a v small no of slipped tiles. It's difficult to get roofers to say "you don't need a new roof" which is why...

Slate roof - repair or replace

Thanks for the reply. I agree that there are signs of nail fatigue, just not sure how bad it is and I'd rather fix the damaged area than strip the whole thing if it is economical. I have only noticed a handful of slipped slates. I suppose it depends on the roofer and how much equipment...

Slate roof - repair or replace

Hello all, Any slate experts here? I have an end of terrace victorian house from around 1850. I really don't know how old the roof slates are, one or two folks have suggested that it is the original roof. At the moment there are no leaks that I am aware of. There are a few small light...

    Vaillant Ecotec plus high pressure

Agile, yes I did try using a spanner to turn the valve but it was starting to come out quicker the tighter it went and i didn't want to break it! I plan on changing the inhibitor soon so may as well look into changing the valve then when it is all drained out. It's been fine since...

    Vaillant Ecotec plus high pressure

It's the loop on bottom of the boiler - two open/close valves with plastic knobs and a flexihose connecting them. I turned the isolating valve off and then on again, that is when the drip stopped. Hot water/CH is fine. Handy to know it's a known fault. The plastic knobs are crap also...

    Vaillant Ecotec plus high pressure

Ok apologies for me being a little stupid. There is a flexi hose on the loop, I obviously wasn't looking closely enough. I think I have sorted it now. I disconnected the cold return side and there was a slow drip still coming through the hose from the mains when both valves were fully...
