The thermostat is at the correct temperature (60 degrees c) - ive already checked. The first plumber did turn it down, and our hot water went to **** ie, shower was cold brrr! plus the pipes were still hot.

The copper pipes connected to our hot water cylinder are extremely hot to touch - and our hot water cylinder tends to 'boil' every 10 minutes or so. We've had a plumber in and he said it all looks to be in working order - I dont remember hot water cylinders in any of the other places we have...

Everytime i have had my kitchen light turned on for a while and then turn it off, it makes a clicking noise, off and on for about 30 minutes. None of the other lights in the house do it. what would cause this?

ok - tried to get a good pic of the 'damage' to the cable last night, but it didnt show up on the photo - which i suppose means it cant be that major :wink:

OK - well the new sparky came round on friday and secured the cable - he also said it shouldnt have been left loose in the cupboard like it was. Looks nice and tidy now ALTHOUGH, and this could just be me being paranoid, when he has hooked up the cable he very slightly damaged it on the side...

I have had countless problems getting one interior wall painted to a smooth finish - obvious roller marks are present. I have tried the "W" painting technique, but it still looks patchy. what is the best way to get a good finish? I am using quality rollers and paint.

Ive just painted my bathroom and one wall is all patchy, so i plan to sand it back and repaint it...what sandpaper grit should i use for this? I just want to smooth it back slightly.

Thanks Securespark - just spoke to Stewart and Rogers Electrical (link you provided above) and they are coming around tomorrow to complete the work properly at a VERY reasonable price. :D Still umming and ahhing about the other guys and if i should complain.... :?
