    I've spent the last few months removing woodchip from every ceiling in the house we just bought. I tried the steamer on the ceiling, I wouldn't recommend it unless you like really hot water rolling down your arm and dripping onto you. Oh yes and of course the ceilings are in terrible shape...

    I'll never ever ever put paper on the ceiling, the last home owner had wood chip up there with about thirty coats of paint on it, very frustrating to remove.

    I'm having the same problem, only the patches on my ceiling are everything from 30 - 40cm to just a few mm. Would it advisable to just get the ceiling replastered? Or what about that Polycell Smoothover stuff would that be any good in this case?

    To tell you the truth I have no idea why I'm sanding, it's just what I've read I need to do! I've also already bought the Primer, so I may as well use it. The bloke at Crown said it would give the best finish. :oops:
