    Toilet refilling slowly

Hi, Thanks for this. The metal nut has actually been tightened up in the image. When I undo the metal nut it goes down to where the arrow shows in the attached image and no further, the plastic tube seem to go down a little further and I cannot get it out. Thanks, D

    Toilet refilling slowly

Hi, Thanks for this. I have undone the metal nut but weirdly the plastic tube doesn't come out, it seems to go down further than where the metal nut will undo to (if that makes sense?). Thanks, D

    Toilet refilling slowly

Arrgh, how can something that seems so easy end up being so difficult. So, managed to get rid of all the water but now stuck getting one of the nuts off. I have attached an image, it is the white plastic one. It is right underneath the cistern and right at the back so is difficult to get any...

    Toilet refilling slowly

Sorry, it seemed to get worse over time. OK, I finally got the parts that I required and decided to do the work this evening. Turned the water off to the toilet, gave it a flush and discovered that it doesn't completely empty, it leaves about 2 inches of water. Wondering if anyone had any...

    Toilet refilling slowly

OK, thanks for this. Think I might try the Fluidmaster bit first, my DIY skills are limited so don't want to push my luck :). Out of interest (and may be showing real lack of knowledge here) if the Fluidmaster part is replacing the current ballcock/tap, where does he water come out to fill the...

    Toilet refilling slowly

Hi, Thanks for that. So basically does that replace the ballcock/tap bit that is at the back of the picture, while the blue flusher bit stays? Thanks, D

    Toilet refilling slowly

Hi, Hope someone can help? We have a toilet that refills extremely slowly after it has been flushed. I have attached an image of how things look, basically it seems that if I slightly adjust the little nut shown in the image one way then the toilet will keep filling to the point of...

    Caulk - best product

Just an update on this. I went with the No Nonsense products from Screwfix (along with the No Nonsense gun) - cost about £4 in total and so far seem to have worked a treat. Cheers.

    Window Seal - basic question

I have a really basic question but what is the seal shown in the image that goes around the window called? I need to replace it, or add to what is there at the bottom of the window as there seems to be a gap. Cheers.

    Caulk - best product

Thanks for the suggestion, would be nice to know how you get on. I have read somewhere that acryrub may be for gaps 5mm and bigger? Also, whats the difference between that and the caulk? Cheers

    Caulk - best product

Hi, I have gaps (maybe 2-3mm wide, no idea how deep) in the frame around our front door and also around windows and I have seen that one of the best ways to seal is to use caulk. Is there a product out there that anyone would recommend, I have seen No Nonsense, Evo-Stick and a couple of...

    Bathroom door latch(?) replacement

Hi, Sorry for the big delay in replying to this, have decided to get back onto it. I contacted Ian Firth and they do not do those parts anymore so looks like I will have to buy new. I suppose my question is how easy would it be to fit new parts with the existing holes etc. in the door? I...

    Bathroom door latch(?) replacement

Yes, unfortunatley they do not see to do the type that we have on the dorr anymore. It is the one where you twich the little thing and it locks the door by stopping the handles from going down. It is quite old I think. Wondering if I have to drill holes through the door if I buy a new latch...
