No cavity insulation. Any comeback from NHBC?

Considering the price of gas, it didn't bother me over the last few years, but now it may be worth doing.

No cavity insulation. Any comeback from NHBC?

The house is identical, bricks, boiler, windows, layout etc. I will ask my colleague where he got the idea about the 25 year regulation thing. It does seem rather a long time, it would be great :giggle:, but probably wishful thinking.

No cavity insulation. Any comeback from NHBC?

The identical house opposite has cavity insulation. My colleague 'thinks' my situation is not about warranty, but regulation that has not been applied.

No cavity insulation. Any comeback from NHBC?

I recently discovered that I have no cavity insulation, having removed the flue from a gas fire that I removed. Looking into the cavity, there is no insulation. The house was finished in 2001 and I presumed the NHBC warranty/guarantee would have expired. Speaking to a colleague who was in the...

    Cavity insulation

There's quite a draft in the cavity, so I think insulation will help.

    Cavity insulation

My house was built in 2001 by Countryside, but they didn't install any cavity insulation. Having removed a flue cover there is a void and not a scratch of insulation. I'm guessing there is no come back from Countryside. The cavity is 45mm, so what's the best filling? Thanks in advance for any...

    What type of brick?

Thanks Stuart, but I don't think they are either. They look very much like an Ibstock brick though.

Does anyone know what type of brick this is? I have a hole from an old glue I need to plug. They are 213 x 65mm. Thanks for any advice.

    The wrong cable?

Hi Dave. Yes I have made sure of that. All joints are bare steel and tight, so continuity throughout. Additional earth wired to frame. Three years ago I had a new boiler fitted. When the guy finished the installation I dusted the new pipework and ..........zapp! He was a Worcester Bosch and...

    The wrong cable?

Hi all I have wired up a frame with 3x 4w led lamps, using 0.75mm 3 core flex. Each has a 2m run from a junction box. However, when I came to strip the ends for the lamp fitting, the cable is 0.5mm. Guy in the shop gave me the wrong cable. Is 0.5mm ok? or should I strip out and replace? The...
