    Shower Valve replacement

I found this post //www.diynot.com/diy/threads/can-you-help-identify-my-shower.337936/ which helped identify the shower valve in my shower as RV1102RC, but it also has me wondering whether the valve is the issue. The shower is fed mains pressure hot and cold water but runs very hot, the...

    Water Hammer?

I used the shower this morning and noticed a hell of a din coming from the airing cupboard. When I looked the pipes coming from the loft were banging... I assume this is water hammer?. I turned on the cold tap in the bathroom for a few seconds and it stopped it. Nothing has changed in the...

    Kitchen Refurb

My wife has decided that she wants to replace the worktops in the kitchen with granite which is thinner than the existing worktops. She wants the existing tiles off, the walls skimmed (between the existing units and the new granite) so they can be painted rather than tiled. Is this something...

Mains Cold, Tank Hot To Bath Mixer Shower

Cheers, do you know if I could them put this through a shower pump to increase the pressure if it's not good enough with the mixed hot tank and reduced pressure mains cold?

Mains Cold, Tank Hot To Bath Mixer Shower

I've installled a bath mixer tap with one of those shower attachments where you pull up a knob to switch to the shower. There is about 5 metres head on the hot and the cold is mains fed. When I tested this with hot only it was acceptible, but when I turn on the higher pressure cold the shower...

    Electric Heaters

It'a not got economy 7, I've had it in the past elsewhere and the lack of control over the output was a right pain... especially when it ran out at night

    Electric Heaters

I need to put an electric heater (or two) into a new rental I'm doing (no gas supply). There is such a variation, the requirements are good heat retention (oil filled?), wall mountable, slimline if possible, 7x24 hour timer and a thermostat... anyone got any recommendations? The house is...

Is all waste pipe solvent weld?

I guess I could just put this over the existing pipe and seal the nick (we are taking a saw blade wide and 10mm long to be honest I was considering cutting the socket from a solvent weld fitting and sliding it over the pipe with some solvent over the nicked bit is that a bodge?

Is all waste pipe solvent weld?

The problem is that I cant get a compression fitting into the gap where the pipe is nicked... is it possible to get something which just extends the pipe so solvent on one side and clean pipe on the other, then I can put a compression fitting on that?

Is all waste pipe solvent weld?

I've managed to nick a waste pipe taking up the floor in a bathroom. I was going to use pushfit to plumb in the bath waste but where it's been nicked it's going to be a lot easier to cut it fully through and use a slimmer solvent weld fitting to extend the pipe and then use the pushfit for the...

Do I need a shower pump

Sorry, bit more info required. First: no gas to the property, so electric heating to house and electric towel rail in bathroom Second: pretty much impossible to get 10mm cable to bathroom (or any other suitable location) and would also mean a replacement fuseboard as there are no spares on...
