    Hmm, that's a concern but it's ordered now so I'll try first. I've emailed them now so let's see what comes of it, from the earlier posts it looks like the after sales service is pretty good.

    So the fault reappeared yesterday after a few months of working with the backlight option turned off. I've ordered the replacement capacitor as per Dce's post and will update here when done...

    Thanks for the comment, so up to 2.4 metres to the eaves? So decision is made, block construction but also need to understand the best place for the damp proof course, between the slab and first blocks or one block up, will there be any moisture seepage through the first block course if I do it...

    Thanks Dave, coincidentally I had another local chap take a look today and he was talking about a combination of both, so a few courses of blocks, timber frame and cladded upper section then the original idea of trusses and tiles. Still not clear on the benefits other than speed of construction...

    I went on the advice of Dce regarding the onboard capacitor, but for now I just turned off the backlight and it's been working since. In case it fails again I have the capacitor information so I can source one easily if needed. Great thread, thanks all.
