With many many thanks to ManorTim for coming out and sorting it out tonight, the Nest is now installed. The previous installers were told not to return a 3rd time, Nest agreed to pay for any additional installation costs and my wife is happy again!
I think Tim was a little astounded at how...
The other thing I didn't mention is that they were trying to install the heat link in the airing cupboard yesterday as the original position under the boiler was not suitable.
I did name them in the original post but seems the admins don't like us naming & shaming. They're a property maintenance company whose name is a shortened version of umbrella.

Tim, it's BH31 but Nest decided who they would use as there was a free installation offer but given these problems I can probably argue someone else needs to be used.

Update... Two engineers worked on it today for 9 hours including getting it back to how it was, outcome is no heating for second night. They have one more chance then I'll be insisting they get Br G*s in to put everything back as it was.

Thanks, they're sending another engineer at lunchtime so will see how that goes otherwise will get someone else in and *****.

Even I suspected it was something to do with the valve can't believe this guy didn't understand.
Hi, the engineer from ****** cam today to install my Nest (they were the subcontractor Nest told me to contact). The engineer had only passable English which meant I had trouble answering his questions and he had trouble explaining anything to me. Anyway, it got worse when he struggled to find...
So wouls it be better to replace the programmer next to the boiler as I assume that is mains powered and do away with the thermostat in the hall? The thermostat next to the boiler controls the hot water and has the heating on constant as the REV17 in the hall was controlling that. I assume the...
This is for a conventional system. The heating thermostat is in the hall and was previously one of those traditional rotary ones, it was replaced a couple of years ago, when a new boiler was installed, with the Siemens. I want to put the receiver (the bit without the display) in the hall...
Hi experts, can I do a straightforward swap of a REV17 with the wireless REV24?
By straightforward I mean the wall plate may need changing but the existing wiring will be ok.
Thanks, Simon
