    replacing Triton Opal II

ah okay thanks.. Also found the triton bezique II will be a direct fit, but looks like it suffers the same inherent low pressure problem (i assume its just a rebranded opal II). I'm guessing all tritons use the same pressure valve microswitch combo?

    replacing Triton Opal II

Hi all, i'm replacing a triton opal II due to the normal low pressure problem. Despite doing the dry joints, the C3, and the relay fixes it still states low pressure... so i'm giving up with it. The problem is, finding a new shower with the water and elecric coutouts in the same (or near the...

    Hotpoint FFA60 Freezer icing problem

Hi all, got a hotpoint FFA60 which has recently had solid icing across the condensor and the drain hole behind the back panel of the freezer, a couple of inches thick in places. We defrosted it last night, but is this indicative of a problem with modules or hardware? The ice was a frozen...

    retaining garden wall drainage?

okay thanks. no it doesn't get puddles on the soil or anything on hard rain, plus the soil goes under the fence and into next doors garden, which is another 30 odd square meters.. so i guess plenty of room to drain away. The gap left between each skin interested me, as technically i suppose...

    retaining garden wall drainage?

no it's not wet.. it was only put in last week :) The main worry is that it will become wet over time.. which we want to avoid obviously, but i dont want to go to the hassle of adding a membrane and gravel if were not going to need it on an 18" high wedge of soil.

    retaining garden wall drainage?

Hi all, we've just had out garden grassed area dropped by about 2ft at its highest point. Around the ourside we've had a retaining wall put in to keep the 1m wide soil border at bay. The people doing it used a concrete foundation for the wall, and used a double skin of reclaimed wirecuts...

Anyone bought a loft ladder from wickes?

yeah to be honest though i dont think ANYONE should tackle a loft ladder installation (especially one that requires cutting of the hatch) unless they're confident in their DIY skills... To just buy one and think 'i can fit that' when you have just a pozi screwdriver and a hammer in your...

planed uneven floorboards.. seal them now?

Evenin all I planed some uneven floorboards to get them level in an 1980's house.. standard pine floorboards. For some reason the old underlay had retained moisture, causing them to bow or lift... nothing major, just a mm or three. Just wondering if i need to seal them, perhaps with a thin...

    water too hot.. valve gone?

latest.. when i adjust the thermostat on the tank, i hear whirring sounds from the valve, and the water seems to stop flowing, and sounds like its backing up and changing direction. The little lever sticking out from the valve does not move. Does this sound like anything obvious? motor, or...

hi all :) excuse my terminology, i dont know what things are aclled. Anyway, got a standard heating system, boiler, tank in airing cupboard etc. When the central heating is on, the hot water temp rockets (when i last checked it was 60+ degrees odd, thermostat set at 40-45). But, during...
