I forgot to mention - if you turn it on really quickly to full power, then it works as well. Problem is, then the water flows too quickly to heat it up properly :( Is it a common thing? And can it be fixed or do we need to change the tap?

Good ideas... thank you. I don't think we'd be able to keep them in no matter what we did - they are little rascals (but very cute at it). The harness trick seems like a good idea, but we'll give them another couple of weeks to completely feel at home.

We have just gotten 2 lovely cats and would like to let them out once they are settled. We've got a fair sized garden, but we need to fence it properly. Do you know of any type of fence that would also keep the cats in as well as offering non-obtrusive privacy? Would prefer it if we could...
