Just for the record- Ends up it must have been a coin in between inner and outer drums. It shattered a hole thro the side of the outer drum and water was gradually splashing out on to the casing of the machine and running down onto the pcb. Moral of the story - always check your pockets are...

Hi. Hope someone can help out. My hotpoint wf540 is on the fritz. Cleaned out filter in the past but this escapes me. Got a slow flashing on/off led and faster flashing mini load (bottom indicator) led. Called hotpoint and they wouldn't divulge error and want £99 to come out. Cheers fb
