agreed. if you have hot water out of one tap. unless your plumbing is really screwed up. it should deliver the same to the other hot taps. try adjusting the flow down on high flow taps. - baths. do you know if you have an anti-scalding valve in the bathroom. ?

if its pumping over into the header tank, check the 'H' or air seperator for blockages. - try the magnet test. get a good magnet. not off the fridge. and try to stick it to the copper pipes in the aircomp. if it is sticking to the pipes before the pump and inbetween where the cold feed and open...

was there any black bits coming out of the heat ex.? also when the system is cold. run the h/w. and feel the heating pipes under the boiler. these should stay cold. if warm the diverters letting heat escape. i can get any spares you need for these. and cheaply.

worcester 28i junior greenstar valliant eco tech pro 28. both units are under 800 inc flue. shop around. both same flow rates and dimentions. i personally like the eco tec. only cos it has a stainless heat ex and desent fittings. the worcester has an ali heat ex. -will corrode in time...

could also be the water thermister. its a little plug on the brass section on the left hand side. green plastic. 2 wires. small but also could be the secondary heat exchanger blocked up. take it out , bang it on a solid piece of wood, flush with mains and repeat until clear.

could well be the air pressure switch sticking.

an atag. or ariston. blimy people. depens on the space you have or location of the appliance and budget. either have 2 units new boiler and new thermo store. forget gledhill, try the range stainless unvented or heatra megagflows. or just go for a combi unit. valliant or worcester.

with modern boiler being senitive to gas pressures. i would advise to work it out correctly. or use the largest pipe where practical, and for as long as the run as posible.

try taping a water tight bag round the prv pipe. it will fall off if anything major happens. but it will also prove if the prv it letting by. it is a cheap fix if the bag has water in. if the bag is empty and your still losing pressure check the auto air vent for leakage and check rad valves...

power flushing is certainly not 'just for the customers'. if done propery it is essential to ensure the boiler funtions correctly for years to come. especially combi's with the tight confines of the calorifier, and more and more boilers being fitted with return filters.
