not sure if that will fix the problem though. The water sound appears whenever the cold water is used throughout the house. Taps and toilets downstairs and upstairs in the bathroom.

I think the pressure of the cold supply needs reducing - anybody have experience with the pressure reducing valves?
Boiler was installed by British Gas - I don’t think they are responsible for “repairing” this - install boiler and make sure pipes are running for hot and cold - job done.
It’s likely the low pressure/higher pressure difference between gravity fed and mains fed that sounds the most feasible...
Sorry to be more exact, the noise isn’t coming from the toilet per se, more like the cold water pipe running to it, it’s like the flow is immense. It’s not the pipe banging noise you usually associate with pipe sounds.

The first picture is the the 2 way switch that is upstairs in the loft - so left side connection is for the loft lights and the right side connection is for storage cupboard lights.
The second picture is the single switch that is downstairs and turns the loft lights on and off.
