Yep...thanks to all...it was the c17 capacitor on the bottom rear circuit board..even tho the engineer said it was the one behind the front control .all fixed.

Thanks for the reply...he seemed to think this was on tbe board directly behind the display panel and buttons. Could be that this is a different problem. Seems a shame to ditch an otherwise good machine for the sake of a faulty capacitor.

Hi all...I know these are old posts but I too have the same problem with my hotpoint wT540. It works fine....when I eventually get it going...but most lights flash rapidly when its switched on. Ha e to unplug and replug it in til it stops. Just had a repair man out who says its the capacitor on...
