ive got another thread going about this anyway ive started to smash this floor up the asphalt is only 1inch thick and cracked all over how much do i have to dig down so i can screed it with a dry sand and cement mix the floor area is about 16sq yards and whats the best way to do it

hi all ive just taken a laminate floor up in my mates house the old style glue one and the floor is uneven all over im talking 2inches in places it seem that the old asphalt floor has bellied all over with bumps and dips all over and i mean this is really bad. now what the best way to level it...
no chance of papering over this i would leave it on and give it a good painting if you take ot off you may find all sorts of problems underneath like cracks and also you may take some of the plaster off aswell when stripping it
where is the paint peeling is it just on the joints? if so rub down then just paint the joints first let dry then paint hole ceiling you dont need to mist coat as such but just add a little drop of water to help spread the paint as plasterboard is not like bare plaster which needs to be mist...
throw a coat of crown white matt emusion on first £12 for 10ltr then put top coat on meself i just go the dulux trade centres and get trade paint far better quality than the stuff in the big stores it may be dulux but its not as good as their trade brand
these doors look white but they always need a good undercoat i always use an acrylic one first then oilbase and finish with gloss or eggshell depending what finish the customer wants
for the white part id use a good water based masonry paint any oil based paint will weather and crack again believe it or not i painted my wooden fence and back gate in jonstones black masonry paint 2 years ago and it looks like it beens done yesterday absolute fantastic finish and on rough sawn...
and make sure you get the right floor bar use a carpet to tile trim to finish helps if you put it on before you reach the door this will make sure you get best finish
