    Socket Ringmain RCD isolation issue

If it is cross connected in the consumer unit, is it a simple job for a qualified sparky to rectify - if so, how long should i reasonably expect it to take?

    Socket Ringmain RCD isolation issue

I don't have an original EIC from when the house was built. I do have an installation certificate from when an electric shower was installed about 9 months ago though.

    Socket Ringmain RCD isolation issue

Last night, i went to isolate an upstairs socket to replace the faceplate as it had cracked. I flicked the RCD marked 'Sockets Up' and the socket i was working on went dead as expected. However, some other sockets upstairs were still live as a stereo was still on, but a few sockets went dead...

    Boiler cycling

I have a Glow Worm Ultimate 40 conventional boiler and a standard vented heating system. When the house is cold and the CH is switched on, the boiler will run as normal for about 20 mins, then cycle on for about 1 min then off for about 3 mins until eventually the room stat cuts the boiler...

    Tiled in cooker switch???

I recently had my kitchen tiled and the tiler tiled in the cooker switch as opposed to tiling just behind it. If the switch becomes defective, i would need to chip the tiles and grout off around it to remove it. Question is, is this workmanship in accordance with the building regs? Cheers...

All copper pipes in my system... Lor: If it does not cause the whole system to go live, is this why the fuse/mcb did not pop?

    Quick advice needed...

Sure, it was brown wire to the earth connection and yellow/green to the live connection. There doesn't seem to be any harm done, although i will be getting the electrics checked since the fuse/MCB did not pop. Panic over, cheers for the advice.

No, the flex was standard blue, brown, green/yellow. The connections on the pump were clearly marked. The wiring was conventional. There doesn't seem to be any harm done to the system, so panic over hopefully!
