Ah, there is a man hole cover further up between the house and this pipe. Do you think this is likely to be the overflow pipe? I really hope I can bury this ha ha

It does not smell. Looks like the previous owners just stuffed old bits of wood in the top too.

I'm not sure what was there originally. I do know the houses on our estate are only 17 years old however. Do you think it is safe to cut it shorter? and bury it? I'm planning on turfing the back that's all and its extremely ugly. Cheers
