Thanks for the reply. Isn't that fudging it though? Or is that the way a professional would do it also?.

A few months ago we had a leak under the living room floor. The plumber lifted 1 board, fixed leak and said keep it off until dried out. So it's now ok to put back on,but it will not go back in. It is about 5mm too big and no matter how much I try to jam prod and hammer it won't fit. Obv it...
