    Honeywell/Aube were very helpful, received email with advice from a Mr Stanton here in UK, turns out base unit is dead so ordered another (original now obsolete) which should arrive tomorrow. Wiring it in is a piece of cake - swapped one in from another mat. Have no contactor or snubber...
