I have cleared the gutters out and sealed them with some fibre glass paint. Will see what happens during the next torrential downpour which could possibly be tomorrow if these predicted thunderstorms happen.
Hi All,
I live in a 1930 terrace house with cast iron gutters. When it rains "normally" the gutters are fine. However, as well know there has been a number of torrential downpours this year's. When there is the guttering on the house can't cope and the water spills over the back of the...
He did show me some numbers but it meant absolutely nothing to me.
He was a baxi boiler engineer and did everything online so I have requested a a digital work log and certificate.
Thanks guys that's really helpful. I've used this website for different views and it's been great. If I listened to the engineer this morning I need a full new pipe which means floors up and a load of hassle. He mentioned to me if a senior technician had of checked the boiler this morning he...
That's my whole point Terry if it's absolutely fine then can I just leave it? Depending on who u speak to its a different story a bit like yourself and CBW.
Will it ever fail a service?

Hi All,
I had a Main Eco Compact 30 boiler installed about a year ago now. It's been running fine.
It's just had its first service. The engineer said the boiler has a 22mm gas feed. However the main gas pipe is a 15mm. It looks like when the installer fitted the boiler he has inserted a...
Well I've had the house for 8 years and the kitchen was fitted 10 years before that so guessing it was removed around then.
So basically with toothed brickwork the sides are supported fine but the front needs support?
Hi here are a couple of picture. I've opened the front of the chimney and left the sides on. The brickwork is fine with no lose bricks. As your can see on the sides every other brick is bonded into the wall.
Hi all. In my bathroom airing cupboard I have an old chimney breast. My bathroom is above the kitchen and I don't have a chimney in the kitchen.
The chimney seems to start in the bathroom and goes up all the way to the roof.
I want to remove the chimney in the bathroom to square the room off...
