Hi MelEMck,
When you have sorted this out you will also need to connect the Earth wires from the backbox to the new switch as it is metal.

Hi Markyyyyyy,
You should have used cable glands for them junction boxes, because over time water will run down into the one above your door number. Also that one has been installed on its side.

Hi Paul,
You should use something like this: https://www.wickes.co.uk/Deta-30A-12-Way-Connector-Strip/p/710112 and cover it over with one of these if it is temporary: https://www.wickes.co.uk/Wickes-Single-Blanking-Plate---White/p/710192
This is safer than leaving the cables sticking out with...
Hi Paul,
You will need to use larger terminal blocks (30amp or 32amp) and keep all the L, N and E together in the three separate blocks. Otherwise you may find other sockets stop working.

Hi Trazor,
Never buy bulbs from places like Amazon and eBay. There are a lot of fakes and rubbish quality bulbs on them websites. I've had some last only a day or so many times and have learnt my lesson. Always buy them from reputable companies that sell ones that are made to UK/European...
Hi 5oysterman2,
That looks very similar to the hinges you get on ottomans/lift-up beds. Maybe have a look for ottoman hinges:

Hi Someonelse,
I've never had any problems with LAP stuff myself. It's Screwfix own make, so will be the same as Diall from B&Q. They are the same company.
I bought a load of LAP/Diall bulbs when I first moved into my house about eight years ago and have only changed about two or three in...
Hello Themoo,
Make a hole about here (or see if there is a gap under the worktop) and pull down if the hose is long enough. If not, you will have to buy an extension hose and cut to length.
Regards,
Huggybear.
Hello Themoo,
It was too long. It makes it easier to connect and install the machine if you have a bit of slack. If there are two people, you can use the current hose by getting someone to push the machine in while holding the looped over unconnected hose and then pull the hose down to the...
Hello Themoo,
You were probably still getting smells before because the hose was too long when it was looped up. You can buy extension hoses from places like Screwfix, Toolstation and other plumbing merchants. You may not need a non-return valve, but it may help.
Regards,
Huggybear.
Hello Themoo,
Your "plumber" has shortened the hose, but it still needs to be looped higher at the top of the cabinet. The way it is now means that dirty water from your sink can discharge into the hose and sit there getting stagnant. The hose looks too short now so you would have to extend it...
Hi OscarOne
Once you've got it sorted out you will also need to connect the earth wires to the face of the switch as it is metal.
Unscrew the three earth wires (keeping them together) in the backbox and connect them to the connection on the switch OR get a new wire with earth sleeving and...
Hi Solo,
Are they backboxes for plasterboard? If so, they are not the type used in the UK. There are no screw terminals and also no back to them.
Regards,
Huggybear.
Edit: Just seen what they are. I personally think it's a waste of time and money buying them.
