I am only assuming its an igniton malfunction of sorts, but i dont really know. The boiler woks ok apart from on/off routine. if its somethimg else then I cant see it. I am a plumber. etc, but not fully knowledged on boiler operation. hence I`m struggling to find the reason for it switching...

The boiler works fine.. its just the ch flashes when it goes off. when I try the hw tap it still doesnt fire up. so i have to press reset for 5 secs and it works. i have to assume there is some fault with the ignition, because it goes off about 3 times a week., and i am thinking the burner...

thanks boys. the lights flash fast, and both hw and heating lock out. I still think there might be some "fault" with the ignition..??

my worcester 24cdi boiler is switching itself off intermittently. I have to press the reset for 5 secs and it fires up afain. This happens about 4 times a week. Is the burner or gas pipe clogged up, or is some sensor telling it to shut down. any clues would be helpful. thanks

Once again you electricians right.. That "tester' has been ditched and i got a multimeter. the readings on tester bear no resemblence to what is going on, a waste of time other than to tell when current is present. The meter gave me accurate readings, and it transpired that a wire was loose...
