Just curious what the little joggled wire hook thingy is which was in with the hardware bag supplied with magnet kitchen wall units. Cant see any possible use!! Any ideas.
I believe on this 1963 bungalow - it is a combined system. The sink drain runs along the back of the property and on the corner of bungalow/garage (which is where I want to branch in), the rainwater downpipe drops into the same drainage pipe. Thanks for your replies.
I have plumbed my old kitchen sink unit into garage. Just through the wall is a convenient plastic square down pipe - which I would like to discharge waste water into. This will save waste pipe running along back of bungalow to kitchen drainand & looking unsightly! Is it ok to do this and if so...
thanks dazb - the problem i forsee is that the gap is so small - would a felt tip (for example) just run over the top of the gap - rather than get in the joint? Thanks for your input.
Hello all. Feature wallpaper (choc brown!) has shrunk a little - exposing light wall behind. Gaps are max 1mm. Any help on 'what product' to hide these seam gaps with - along with a 'how to do' much appreciated. Thanks John
Hello all - some coping stones have dislodged on low garden wall. The base of stone is flat - as is the existing mortar face. The existing mortar seems sound - just lost the bond.As I am worried about dislodging brickwork if i try to chisel it off - is there a way of bonding the two together...
I painted a wall with dulux matt emulsion. On one corner (external corner) and along a 12 inch line/portion of wall, the paint just would not dry out. Now after 2 weeks - a reddish /brown powder has bled through/developed. It can be scraped off - but obviously an issue there. Any ideas/tips...
Have some rectangular door number tiles - which I want to bond onto a masonry painted brick wall. Any suggestions what to bond on with. My thoughts were builders silicone - any comments/advice welcome. Ta John
I have a John Lewis paper which says use a 'paste with preservatives and a fungicide'. My packet of solvite says contains fungicide but nothing about the preserver. Am I looking at a special paste? Thanks
Thanks to you both. I have timed other previous paper to 5 mins (as label states) - then when on the wall vertical creases appear! Soaked for 10 mins and was ok. This particular paper said 5 mins Min so I gave it eight - then it shrinks. Cant win!!
I hung one roll of laurence llewelyn bowen paper last week on a very hot day. As flat was empty , I had to lock up/close windows when finished. On my return today, the seam gaps seem to have opened up slightly. Any suggestions as to why. I am thinking heat/unaired room. Second point - how to...
A friend wants to paint over her lovely grey prefab concrete garage. Is it as simple as applying 2/3 coats of masonry paint. Questions are 1)Will it bond ok 2)Should she pre treat with anything? and 3)Is there any prefered paint type/make up. Thanks in advance.
