I think I'll pull out the fittings and install a better known unit, like the Thorn.
The Galaxy fitting worked fine for a few months and then broke down. From this fact, is it safe to assume that there is no underlieing wiring problem?

I got the fittings and the tubes from the same wholesaler. They are not exposed to any extreme conditions in situ.

Hot air paint strippers are very effective. You need to be careful around UPVC window frames as even if you use heat-shields, you can still get heat discolouration on the frames. Also good gloves are an essential as contact with scrapers or shaves can result in nasty burns.

I'm currently patching in the pointing on a red brick property - the pointing in areas has deteriorated.
Has anyone experience with the various pointing guns that are now on the market? Are they any better than the usual pointing-trowel method?

Btw, why is it reccommended that you wipe some fuel on the main gasket before tightening the cover back on?
