Question is, should I "risk" it and keep the existing system boiler to save a couple of grand or change a working boiler now rather than risk it packing up in the unforeseen future (feels wasteful)
I am changing the vented cylinder to an unvented cylinder but would like to keep the 10 year old Main HE 24 system condensing boiler.
Some plumbers say I should change the existing boiler in one job, other say I should keep it, the boiler is so basic that I cant imagine failure from any fancy...
I have come to the conclusion that the renovation works carried out in full by a main builder or contractor would be too expensive.
I have now hired a separate electrician and is looking to get a plumber/ gas engineer but have hit a sticky point on the actual build works.
How to i organise...
one last advise.. if you decide to sound proof. use a specialist company who knows what they are doing or be prepared to stand over your builders shoulders to make sure the insulate VERY WELL
i just did mine. the builder skipped on detail as i was not there to watch over him and he missed out on the rubber sheet between the plasterboard
