    Leak under kitchen sink

It's a breeze block wall behind. For long-winded reasons I will be going on the tube and can't carry my whole tool box with me. As you suggesting that the leak could be emanating from behind the rear of the cupboard carcass?

    Leak under kitchen sink

Exactly why I would like to fix it myself! It is quite a journey to get to the flat and I am going today to look myself: I just hoped someone might be able to offer guidance so I can take the right tools with me and find the cause and solution

    Leak under kitchen sink

Hi all The tenant of our flat just emailed me this picture of the very slow leak under the kitchen sink. The colour and location suggests it is to do with the pipe above. Any suggestions as to the cause and how I fix it? I'm at good DIYer level and don't really have the change to call a...

'Solar-control' glass: does it really work?

Hi there My wife and I are looking to add an extra room to the rear of our house. We're torn between a single-storey extension, with tiled roof, velux windows and bi-fold doors onto the patio; or a glass conservatory with bi-fold doors etc. We live in the South-East of England and have a...

Electric sockets not working but MCB not tripped

Solved! After speaking with my brother-in-law I took the front casing off the CU with a view to swapping the MCBs to see if the fault followed the MCB - before I swapped it I tried tightening the screws and one was loose. Tightened that and all working fine now! Thanks to all for the help.

Electric sockets not working but MCB not tripped

PS: I don't know if it's a, RCB or RCBO: it says MCB B32 SFMBB32 on it, if that helps? It's a MARBO CU. I'm afraid I don't know what a ring final circuit is: only that its the circuit controlled by the fuse in the CU titled 'upstairs sockets'! it's not actually tripping out when i turn it...

Electric sockets not working but MCB not tripped

Knowing the builders a little - not just a Friday afternoon, but Friday morning and Thursday afternoon as well! It is that socket as I unwired and rewired it and it worked - until i pushed it back into the wall and it went off again. Will fiddle again in the morning..... Thanks for your...

Electric sockets not working but MCB not tripped

Hi - hope someone can help. The upstairs socket have stopped working, yet the MCB has not tripped in the CU. I have tried unplugging everything and turning off/on again, but no joy. It went in the middle of the night, so it doesn't seem related to anything that was being plugged in at the...
