    Valor Radiant Heater Piezo

No name, just Valor Model 383X infra red heater. I can get to the piezo unit inside the heater below the push button fairly easily but cant see any way to release it, like a locknut. Must be something there. I hoped I was missing something obvious! Thanks :D

    Valor Radiant Heater Piezo

How do you remove and disconnect a faulty piezo spark unit? It appears to be threaded in but there's no obvious way to remove it from the heater without breaking something. Standard stand alone Valor gas heater model no 383x

    Tiling to electric cooker

My electric cooker is a tight fit between wall and edge of kitchen worksurface, no room to tile down the side of the wall beside it. I want to put tiles behind and to side of cooker but if I tile down to the cooker top I won't ever be able pull the cooker out without risking breaking the tiles...

    Old Caravan Window Frame Capping

Thanks both. I will try locally though there's not much choice and they tend to be expensive. I've already tried Sealsdirect and trawled the internet...thought it would be simple! The temporary solution is duct tape! Keeps the rain out anyway.

    Kitchen Wall Units?

Thanks for that. They do have a good range but are expensive, esp in delivery charges. I got standard units from Homebase locally and am still working on where to get the shorter ones. BTW talking about delivery charges, does anyone have a problem with surcharges for living in 'remote' areas...

    Old Caravan Window Frame Capping

I have acquired a Robin caravan c1970's vintage and the white flexible plastic capping/seal which fits round the window frames has broken up due to weathering/uv damage. It's about 25mm wide inside channel measurement and a simple push on fit over the frame edge. Anyone know where I can get this...

    Kitchen Wall Units?

Where can I get flatpack or assembled wall units 570mm and 720mm high at a reasonable price. Screwfix only do 720mm which seems to be the case with most suppliers. Most only want to supply full kitchens. I only want 6 wall units, two of which are corner units which must be 570mm because of the...

    'Arthouse' polyurethane premium coving

What do I need to mitre the corners? And where can I get it? It looks simple enough but I can't find any information on obtaining the relevant tool. Also what is best for cutting this stuff accurately? Thanks.

    Broken radio aerial

I managed to break the little telescopic aerial on a treasured wind-up radio. Impossible to reattach an aerial but I took the back off and reckon I can solder a long piece of fine wire in there. Anyone know where I can get suitable aerial wire?

    Outside tap non-return valve

Ok, thanks for that, very helpful.

    Outside tap non-return valve

I believe this is a legal requirement. Can anyone recommend what valve to fit to the tap or does it go on the hose connection? I have used standard grey 13mm (or is it 15mm?) plastic pipe. Also is it ok to use this type of pipe to bury as an extension to another outdoor tap?

    Non Standard Size Door

    It's 1742mm x 658mm, and has a small glass pane set in.

    Non Standard Size Door

Anyone know a good supplier who can make an undersized exterior hardwood door? It has to be wood because of planning restraints. I had a joiner make one a couple of years ago. He cut down and rebuilt an exterior fire door which was great but has now sprung along the bottom as I think water has...

    idiots up mountains

Now to 'save money' the MOD wants to privatise rescue services. This means helicopters will no longer be available free to assist Mountain Rescue Teams etc. The Insurance Companies are rubbing their hands in anticipation...... If you're not insured and are rescued by helicopter better hope...
