The cost online for this boiler works out approx £700 (inc VAT) so he is adding £1300 on top. I thought it was dear but there is mixed reactions.

The plumber said he will need to join about 3 pieces of flue to reach the roof. Yes this price includes a new gas pipe from the meter and he did mention about cleaning out the central heating system but not a power flushing machine. Thanks for your replies.

I'm like you and have a back boiler which is noisey and would love to change it, so a guesstimate on changing it for a condensing boiler would be appreciated. My only thought on expense would be if the flooring (carpets etc) to get to the pipes etc will need to come up.

What setting do you have it. Mine is about 2 but takes forever to heat up the CH.

I think the system has been de sludged. I have bought the house recently and noticed two empty bottles in the loft already used for flushing out the system. Do you think it needs doing again?
