The pipe does run under the ground floor void and is not insulated.
What I was really wondering was whether it would freeze but not burst, as the modern blue pipe?
I have just bought a 1960's bungalow which has original black (plastic/rubber?) underground mains waterpipe.
Is this the type which does not burst when frozen, and will it be ok to leave this without renewing it?
I know that Ideal boilers have been discussed (and rubbished) in past posts.
