We are having to have the windows in listed home repaired.
We were kindly allowed to insert some double glazing panels into each window (there are 8 in each window half - 9 pairs of windows) and the windows required careful rebating to get them in.
The final fitting is now taking place and they...
It's been dull all morning but is brigher now.
The solar collector is at 57 degrees C and the tank at 49 degrees C.
When I turn the tap on, it takes a minute and the boiler fires up .... it's going to be tough to find the installer of a system, maybe 8-10 years back for which I have no paperwork.
We have moved into a house with a solar heating array on one of it's roofs.
We were told it was operating and certainly the Suntanna 2 controller shows switches working and temperatures in the collector and storage tank going up and down with daylight.
System has a pressure gauge which is...
edit.
Looks like there are RSJ's in there - plus boards and sizeable wood rafters
Just looks like concrete on the outside ... not entirely certain now.
I cannot see where the water is coming from - probably pooling in the plastic
We have a stone built lounge, with a small balcony, attached to the main house.
It sits over the garage.
Moved in a month ago and now spotted that there is a small amount of water coming through the garage. When we moved in, it was throwing it down and there were no leaks then.
It looks to have...
Thanks to everyone.
I replaced the standard flush mech with Thomas Dudley t88 and aspirator mechanism.
It took me 10 mins (as the all the screws were new and not rusted) and the toilet now flushes in an odd, yet effective manner.

picture of pan attached.
This looks kinda like the siphonic toilet .. but you reckon the mechanism isn't ?
Is there a sure fire way of determining it ?
A bucket tipped in steadily, raises the level by an inch or so and I can keep on tipping without a problem...
Here is a shot of the toilet cistern - does this make it syphonic toilet ?
I didn't see anything between the cistern and the pan - when I had the cistern off.
How can I identify one of these ?
It's a shires toilet pan. No idea of fitment age. We believe the extension to be mid-70's - so maybe...
Moved into a new house
It's an old graded building with two far more recent additions on the side. It has 5 floors.
The main building has two bathrooms on floors 3 and 4, with a SVP that runs into the attic room and cleverly exits (hidden) onto the roof of one of the dormers. Everything up here...
we fitted an EPDM roof to a workshop with a very slight gradient.
The workshop is attached to a concrete garage on one wall, i.e. bolted below it's roof ...
We overlapped the rubber off the sides and glued it down with the edging strips. got to be 4" or so of overlap there.....
On the end, with...
have a fibre cement roof on my garage (4m x 6m) that is nearing the end of it's life; crumbly, cracking etc.. Allegedly it's been there around 20 years.
I have been patching with the black fibre painty stuff ....
