Just to close this thread all pressure issues are now resolved. There were two problems. The first problem was that there was not enough charge pressure in the EV. The second problem was that EV hose was damaged (kinked). I would like to thank all contributors who helped me.

Looks like it was a problem with the EV connection hose - thanks Idealman. The metal hose is not in the best condition, it has a few folds/bottlenecks in it. The pressure looks much better when I turn the EV on its side, such that the hose is not folded over in anyway. Must the EV be upright...

Maybe I should create an air lock in an unused radiator by draining it, and then introducing it to the heating circuit. That would work like an expansion chamber - right?

I finally got the expansion vessel re-pressured to 1bar, which incidentally was previously reading 0.2bar. I can now say when the system is cold the heating loop holds at 1bar. However, I still have the problem of too much pressure when I switch the heating on. After 5mins or so the pressure...
