Thanks. I did exactly this and it worked a treat. Well I used my tongue and groove pliers actually as it was a better fit.
So it's completely stripped now and I've given it a quick once over with some appropriate steel wire hand brushes and a cup brush in a drill.
The paint on it is pretty...
It's hard to tell. There's definitely enough space behind (above) where the spring sits. It looks like the pin could fit out, but it would be very close to the 'shoulder' of the casting behind it. I suppose if there is enough room but it's a bit tight then there will be a bit of wiggle room in...
I've been given this lovely little vice and am going to have a go at refurbishing it myself.
My first question is, what's the best way of removing the retaining pin from the screw thread shaft? Should I use a pin punch to knock it all the way through, or just partially through then rotate and...
Thanks for the replies.
So, I found a piece of chipboard for free, bought myself a mini circular saw from Screwfix to trim it down, CT1'd some aluminium corner trim from a cladding company to the front and sides, and screwed a length of timber to the rear/upper edge for strength and for...
I've got a third layer on my keyboard stand, but rather than adding another keyboard to it I want to add a shelf which spans the arms on which I can place several smaller pieces of equipment. Weight of the equipment will be around 5-6kg, but obviously most of that will be supported by the...
Finally got round to fitting this tool rack. I went for the horizontal battens and flange headed screws to hold the rack onto them. Seems to have worked well as it feels solid. Thanks for the advice all.
Unfortunately the trunking is deeper than the metal panels, which is why I need to project them off the wall.
Unfortunately I haven't got the width available to do that. I've only got about 10mm to play with in width due to some cabinets and shelving either side which I don't plan on moving...
I'm after a bit of advice please. I've picked up a Clarke tool rack and want to fit it to my block garage wall which has an electrical socket and trunking on it, so it needs to be spaced off the wall to clear the trunking.
Three out of the four steel rack panels have hanging points on the back...
Thanks for your reply. I do have a set of mole grips but was erring on the side of using spanners as I'm conscious that if grips slip it could round off the nut
Forgive the basic question but I want to check I'm doing this absolutely right.
I want to temporarily completely remove the kitchen sink (which wasn't fitted correctly by others) so I can seal/treat the wood worktop and make adjustments for the under counter clips.
To get to the point, I'm...
