I very much doubt that on housing estates people are actually pressure testing plastic weld joints on every installation.
As we all know what is on paper on the rules and what happens on a site are very different. Its a case of getting it done as quickly and as cheaply as possible with very...
Last house I seem to remember having to fix similar.
Despite sealant and alignment it's not leaking from the toilet tank and never has. To replace that part does the tank need disconnecting from the pan?
Thanks Andy for the link to that part for the flush seal
I'd agree with you there, looks wrong. The one downstairs is the same type and much more aligned.
I'm assuming the hole is standard so I can replace the whole unit easily...I do wonder what goes through people's minds when they decide to simply put sealant on instead..
Might be a trip with the...
After your post Terry I re checked the toilet very closely and yes it's got its own seperate issue with the seal, ever so slightly seeping into the bowl not enough to cause a noise hence difficult to detect.
I've turned the water off to the loo and emptied it and the dripping on the stack pipe...
All good points Terry yes but:
Boiler is downstairs goes directly outside, the stack vent is in the loft and it has only rained today.
I hear you about the loo I did check that as the seal is not the best on the flush upstairs but double checked and toilet is stable to off.
The other two...
Still on the to do list this one and thanks for the replies so far above.
Just another question though any ideas why the dam things still dripping from the same place over 2 days since I flushed the toilet!!? It makes zero sense. There is no one using the bathroom, toilet not leaking, taps not...
Indeed. Along with a lot of other things we have noticed.
I'll get some of the product you suggest, wait til its completely dry, clean it up as much as I can and lather it on and re test
I can get access to the rear of the pipe, with my hand at least. The blanking pipe to the left of the photo is pretty much too the wall though.
Would using the Floplast have any potential detrimental effects? It couldn't burn through the pipe completely could it? It does seem to be just really...
Thanks Terry, this was my initial thought/idea. No point using silicone as yes it may hold for a few years but not forever and I simply cannot tolerate any more leaks or water issues in this house, over 10 now since we moved in in 2017 and the house was only built in 2007!!!
So what is the...
Hi all, its been a few months without a leak in our fantastically built Redrow property (sarcasm)...
The latest one first got noticed when we had a little damp patch above our grey skirting between the kitchen and dining room around March time this year (an area we opened up when we moved in in...
I did as you suggested, response -
"The 2 spare ways can accept other mcbs but you will find that when the lid is taken off the busbar will have been cut to suit the mcbs now installed so for you to fit a new mcb you would also need a new busbar or extend the existing one
I don’t think you...
Thank you.
Yes been looking online gaining knowledge etc. I now realise probably the best option is not to move the RCD switch like advised earlier, have it on the non RCD side on them 2 blank slots and stick another RCD somewhere else.
Just wanted pointers like this really hence my original...
Looking at the consumer unit again it has a Hager st301 transformer (working well charging a wireless doorbell by the way at 0.5amp) and a Wylex mcb which was installed as part of the solar panels system so I'm pretty confident that RCD unit has been moved already more than once.
Wylex look...
