Thanks guys I'll get that looked into, hopefully something that's easily fixed, it is an older bathroom suite.

Gigz I tried that a couple of times yesterday but it didn't help. I gave it another few goes this morning and held it for longer but still no joy. Every time I turn the hot tap on again I'm getting a tiny trickle then it stops.

Ok, well I wasn't expecting that lol! Would there not be lots of gunk that came out with it?

Yes the tap moves fine. It's the hot water we're not getting, the cold is fine.

Ok here goes. The first picture is the pipe that our friend fitted around a year and a half ago. He said he'd fitted a stop valve at the same time. The second picture is the hot water pipe coming from the tap and the third picture is just the bottom half of that pipe. Is this any good?

Yes hot water at the kitchen sink and the shower is electric (no bath). Cold water tap upstairs is working fine.

About a year and a half, didn't realise it was so long! I've just been using the shower for hot water upstairs when needed and we have no problem with the downstairs hot tap.
