My hot water gets slower and slower, till almost a stop, then fter about 15 - 30 secs full blast as normal, I changed the pressure vessel near the immersion storage, it had 3.5 bar which is fine. Still no good.
I have fitted hundreds of them, it takes me about 30-40 mins from scratch, but a good diy person, I'd say an hour or more. I you can buy a cheap mortice jig or borrow one, or even a good router with a long reach, it cuts the time down on fitting.
I see, but the hot water cylinder and the central heating are now fine, I was not sure if it was hot water or central heating cutting it off, couldn't tell, all seems fine though, thanks. They have safety pressure valves, they all work, so i should be ok?
It's fine now, didn't cut off at all last night or this morning, so I think it's fine, I checked outside to see if any pressure valves "let of any steam" but all dry out there, job done! Thanks for hints, it got me thinking.
Now, what I just tried seems to let me pump the varem expansion, I turned the main water off, twisted the blue valve in the picture the release some water, it is now allowing me to pump it up, I've got to about 2.5 bar, but tiring ! Will see what happens later when the heating comes on (y)
not sure what valve to leave open? I'll add a picture of the pipes leading up to the expansion vessel, it has a valve that loops past, wonder if I turn that will it lower the water in the expansion? The blue rwc valve joins the expansion vessel
I kmow you shouldn't but I pressed the red tag in the boiler to release the water outside, I know it can unstabilise the switch. So do you think kepp it pressed while someone pumps?
My red reset light comes on now and then when the heating and hot water are on, so I reset it and all ok for a while. I have been told that the expansion vessel needs presurising (Varem Extravarem 12 litres R101222836) I release the pressure in the system to get the boiler down to almost 0, then...
