With regard to my project re insulating my park home can i use wood screws to penetrate the softwood timber battens and the thin aluminium skin it has to go through as well?

I live in a Park Home.I want to put timber cladding on the outside and in between the battens-board insulation.I'm going to use shiplap cladding.Given that the insulation boards are 4ft.wide,is'nt that toowide to space the battens?What about cutting boards in half ie 2ft?I need the insulation...

Thanks-the finished thickness however will be more because i want to put insulation boards between the battens because it was sodding freezing last winter owing to the walls only being static caravan thickness.i'm thinking about 35mm insulation and 35mm battens.

I want to fix softwood timber shiplap cladding to the outside of my chalet and need info about how i fix it at the corners of the building and around the windows for a neat finish any help would be greatly appreciated. :D
