Well i seemed to have had exactly the same problem as this chap on here and after trying to solve the problem by other methods i tried this and hey presto, yes it might just be pure luck but it worked! why not try it anyway? but drain it to lets say 0.2 bar so all the sediment doesn't sludge...
Unless to get a replica that is just as good and at £7.00 quid too.
I've had loads of problems with my Halstead ace boiler, not helped by a cow boy that messed things up even more.
In the boiler try releasing all the water out through the PRV (it has a red cap on it) drain all the water...
The strange thing is Chris sometimes the CH doesn't work (or the pin doesn't push up and you will be aware that there re two pins one DHW and one for the CH, i find that if the CH doesn't push up the DHW fails too.
Could it still be what you say though?
Tony i put the old pump back in today and it fired up and started to heat the place - unbelievable! so it seems not only did the corgi guy install a wrong pump head that leaked he also said i needed a new one!
This may now run for a few days then i suspect a flashing green light again and...
Because the original was taken off because allegedly that had failed, he (the bent corgi guy) then bodged a "wirlo" pump head on and it doesn't seat properly so im just going to buy an original pump head.
Any info on the diaphragms? are they easy to do?
I'm going to fit a new pump head and diaphragm to the CH micro switch, there is another Micro switch that controls the DHW that also has another pin, is this another diaphragm to be replaced as well?
Halstead said i can go to wicks to get the pump head can i also get the diaphragms too...
Just a quick question, can anyone tell me what causes the pin to push out when the heating or DHW is activated on this boiler (ace 82) as mine doesn't push out, obviously some of you are aware i have had recent problems with it and i'm trying to eliminate some of the symptoms - any ideas?
ChrisR as i stated before the pump IS apparently the problem thats why the dodgy fitter swapped heads from another pump only the head didn't fit properly but it was a measure he took to see if it was the pump, hence why i have a water leak.
I just don't want that fitter no where near this...
