Ive seen replacement screens on ebay, and you tube tutorials on how to replace them, I guess it depends how adventurous you are, but Id probably prefere to give it a go than spend out on a new one.

RAM is really easy to replace / install, particularly with the above advice, infact it's probably a great way to increase your confidence with this kind of thing, maybe you'll be saving money in the future making home builds it can be quite fun!
