Great info When using concrete blocks, can they be set the usual way (same as an internal house wall) or do they have to be used set on the side as the drawing above shows for a retaining wall. Also the soil is compacted clay so would i still need to go down to two feet.

Was wondering if anyone can advise me on the size and depth of concrete foundation for a 400mm-500mm high double brick retaining wall (which will be holding soil back). Also if red engineering bricks are ok to use or will they lose there brick faces after a period of time. Thanks

Thanks again for swift replies Will try freezer on rcd circuit for now. Understand what your saying dingbat but due to lack of space it has to go in the garage (2nd freezer anyway, main one in kitchen)

Am I being too picky about having the freezer on a seperate circuit. Do other people bother or do they just leave it on the RCD side. Has anyone had any problems with the freezer being on the RCD circuit.

definately going with a JB on side wall but not sure whether to go with plastic or metal adaptable JB. Any suggestions, the wall it will be positioned on tends to be fairly open so gets the brunt of any rain,wind or snow.
