The DPC runs right underneath the concrete plinth the door frame is resting on, just course of mortar separating them.

I did consider using blocks, but my skill at buttering and bedding blocks is pretty much zero, and I'm likely to end up with something far more dangerous than the exisiting drop. :cry: I'm far more confident that I can build a wooden mold and shovel concrete into it without major problems...

Do you want to edit an existing PDF or create a new one? For creating a new document, if I recall correctly Sun's OpenOffice will let you save as PDF. For editing an existing one, if its just text you should be able to copy and paste in the editor of your choice.

Is it still blinking and flashing after cleaning the crud out? If so it's probably not overheating unless you keep it in the oven. Try CPUID CPU-Z and HWMonitor for system speed and temps etc. http://www.cpuid.com/
