Hi, I am re-fitting an existing outside light for my parents and the wire coming out of the wall is only 2 core and has no earth. They want the lamp moved and have a length of cable thats 3 core including earth. Is this possible to wire together as i thought you have to have an earth.

Can anybody advise how to get my hot water hotter. I have a SAUNIER DUVAL.heater. Thanks Mick

John Lewis do a freesat box for 119.00 and will install with a dish for £78. The back up service is also quality.

Where they are working on the digital signal this can sometimes send power surges through your tv set ups. Always a good idea to try retuning your tv and pvr this could help.

We have hot water but it needs to be hotter. Our boiler is a saunier duval and im guessing it could be just turning up the water pressure but am not sure. Thanks in advance for any help. Mick

hi, can anybody help? whenever i flush the toilet, after about 5 to 10 seconds there is a loud groaning noise, what could this be, and how could i solve it? thanks in advance, mike

I havent used transformer fed lights, the buzz is minimal but noticable if you are close to it, the the darker the light, the more the buzz, but still minimal.

When the dimmer switch is turned down, it buzzes loudly, when its turned up it buzzes but quieter. Any idea how to fix this problem? Thanking you in advance. Mike

Cheers all, just checked it and changed the bulb and seems much metter except for a very small buzzing in the switch which you can only hear if you put your ear to it. Is this ok? Thanks in advance Mike

Hi, Whenever we turn off a cold water tap the pipes upstairs make a loud bang which i have been informed is called hammer pipe. How do i solve this, any ideas. My thanks in advance. Mike

Hi, Thanks to this site i have just fitted my first dimmer switch and it works fine,except the bulb when turned down low flickers and makes a light buzzing sound. I do have an energy saving bulb in, would that make a difference? Thanks in advance. Mike

Thanks all for your help. The switch is fitted and working but the bulb is flickering and lightly buzzing when dimmed to low. Any ideas? Thanks again. ps Its an energy saving bulb,would that make a difference.
