    Nest thermostat - Room Stat?

Hi All, I’m having some building work done and plan to swap my Honeywell ST699 to a nest thermostat following the work. One question I have is regarding the room stat I have in my lounge. Is this needed following the nest installation? If I was to disconnect the room stat now before I install...

    Carpet Underlay

Hi All, I'm looking at ordering a high quality 80/20 close knit carpet but I can't help but feel the softness of the carpet doesn't compare with the some of the higher piled carpets. I've heard that the higher piled carpets will just flatten if used in high traffic ares. What type of underlay...

    Few downlights not working

Hi all, recently bought a new place a few of the downlights in the kitchen don't seem to work, even though I've changed the bulbs. I'm assuming it's the transformer that needs replacing. Essex Area - Rough estimate per sqm

Hi All, I'm thinking of getting a single storey extension, does any one know what the average is per square metre at moment? I can only see estimates going back a few years, which I assume are now out of date. Also what kind of finish does that cover? Plastered finished? Thanks in advance.

    Wooden wall?

Hi all, I'm looking to put my tv on the wall in my bedroom but the wall I want to put it on seems to have a wood interior, if that makes sense? When drilling rather than brick it seems to be wood. I've not seen this before. Is it safe to hang a tv from these walls? Do I need certain screws? Thanks

    Filling around a plug socket

sorry another silly question... I'm planning to fill around a plug socket where some plaster has come away and to do this I need to remove the socket. Once finished filling, I plan to leave the socket off for a day as it dries. How do I leave the wires to ensure its safe as I have kids. If I...

    Excess aerial cable

Hi all, Really basic question... I have a lot of aerial cable in our bedroom that we don't actually need. Am I safe to just cut it off and push the leftover cable into the hole coming through the ceiling from the loft? Thanks Hayley

    does this look safe?

Thanks for this advise. Just to confirm I plan to run an extension lead from the single socket so I can plug Sky Box, TV, Wireless Internet Modem, DVD player etc, this wont overload the socket by doing all this? The double socket will just be used to plug in additional appliances as and when...

Ok and if I want to do away with the single socket and just have a double socket, I can just lose the block and wire all 5 wires to the double socket?
